Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and driven Staff Accountant with up to three years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in accounting principles and practices, along with a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to various financial activities within our organization and grow professionally in a dynamic environment. Specifically, this role will focus on tax return preparation for a multitude of entities as well as individuals, as well as monthly/quarterly bookkeeping if the need arises.

Baldwin Management is a private and independently-owned firm created to serve families, foundations, and non-profit institutions as investment advisors, family office specialists, and financial planners.

These solutions are implemented to relieve individuals and institutions of tasks that could interfere with the full realization of their objectives. This will be accomplished in an atmosphere of total objectivity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

1.       Tax Return Prep – Assist in the preparation of individual, trust, entity, foundation, etc. yearly tax returns. Candidates should have an understanding of basic tax concepts, with training provided for more difficult and rigorous tax scenarios.

2.       Tax Research – Candidates should be able to utilize various resources to research complex tax topics and also explain this information as succinctly as possible.

3.       Bookkeeping – Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including mainly Profit and Loss statements, Balance Sheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Accounting standards. Candidates should be able to prepare and post journal entries for routine transactions, accruals, and adjustments, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, as well as complete bank reconciliations.

4.       Ad Hoc Analysis – Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes.

Qualifications:
1. Working towards or achievement of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
2. Up to three years of experience in Accounting, Tax, or related roles.
3. Strong understanding of Accounting principles and practices.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software. (Quickbooks, CCH Axcess, etc.)
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with the team.
